Tips & Trick

The Easiest DIY Scarf Hanger for Your Closet

As an artist, I love expressing myself through fashion, and scarves are a big part of that! But keeping my scarves organized used to feel like an uphill battle. They’d end up in tangled piles, lost at the bottom of my closet. Sound familiar?

Well, I finally tackled the problem with a super easy and inexpensive DIY scarf hanger, and let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer! Now, my scarves are neatly displayed and easy to find, making my mornings a little less chaotic. Let me show you how you can do the same.

Gather Your Supplies

For this project, you’ll need just a few basic supplies:

  • Wooden towel bars (length depends on your space and number of scarves)
  • White spray paint (optional, but I love the clean look!)
  • Level
  • Pencil
  • Electric drill/screwdriver
  • Wall anchors (if your towel bars don’t come with them)

Time to Get Crafty!

  1. Prep the Towel Bars: If you prefer a painted finish, lay down some newspaper or a drop cloth and give the towel bars a couple of coats of spray paint. Let them dry completely.

  2. Find the Perfect Spot: Choose a blank wall space in your closet where you’d like your scarf hanger to live.

  3. Mark and Drill: Using a level to ensure your hanger is straight, mark the spots where you’ll drill holes for the wall anchors. If needed, drill pilot holes for the anchors.

  4. Secure the Towel Bars: Insert the wall anchors and screw the towel bars into place.

  5. Hang Those Scarves! Fold your scarves in half, loop the ends through the back of the towel bar, and pull them through the loop. Repeat until all your scarves have a home!

A Few Helpful Tips

  • Wall Anchors are Key: Using wall anchors, especially if you have drywall, will make your scarf hanger extra sturdy and prevent any unwanted mishaps.
  • Customize the Length: The beauty of this project is its flexibility. Use as many towel bars as you need to accommodate your scarf collection.
  • Get Creative with Placement: Don’t be afraid to think outside the closet! This scarf hanger would also look great on the back of a bedroom door or even on a blank wall as part of your decor.

Ready, Set, Organize!

This DIY scarf hanger is a simple solution that brings a touch of organization and style to your closet. It’s amazing what a difference such a quick and easy project can make!
