For a more structured look, measure your paper, lightly mark guidelines with a ruler, and use a paint marker to create clean, monoline calligraphy.
Personally, I prefer a free-flowing, expressive approach! I simply unroll a piece of kraft paper and let my creativity guide me. Don’t be afraid to experiment and find what works best for your calligraphy style.
Personalizing Your Ribbon
To ensure smooth calligraphy on your ribbon, secure one end with a heavy object to keep it from moving. Then, with your dominant hand, carefully letter your chosen message or names onto the ribbon using your metallic or white paint markers.
Creating Elegant Gift Tags
Start by lightly sketching the shape of your gift tags on the thick paper stock. Once you’re happy with the design, carefully cut them out using your scissors.
Next, use the hole punching tool to create a small hole at the top of each tag, where you’ll later thread your satin ribbon.
Now comes the fun part! Using your calligraphy pen, nib, and metallic ink, inscribe your chosen festive messages or recipients’ names onto the tags. Let your creativity flow and don’t be afraid to add flourishes for an extra touch of elegance.
Finally, thread a length of thin satin ribbon through the hole in each tag and tie a delicate bow.
