Discover the Art of Kintsugi: A Virtual Pottery Workshop Experience with Robert Kline Art

Have you ever looked at a broken piece of pottery and seen something more than just damage? At Robert Kline Art, we believe in embracing the beauty of imperfection through the art of Kintsugi. This ancient Japanese technique not only repairs broken pottery but elevates it into a stunning work of art. In this virtual Kintsugi workshop, you’ll learn everything you need to know to transform broken pottery into beautiful, unique pieces, all from the comfort of your own home.

What is Kintsugi?

Kintsugi, meaning “golden joinery” or “golden repair,” is a centuries-old Japanese art form that uses lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum to mend broken ceramics. More than just a repair technique, Kintsugi embraces the history of the object and visibly incorporates the repair into its aesthetic. This philosophy celebrates the cracks and breaks as part of the object’s story rather than something to disguise.
