Dive into Virtual Embroidery Hoop Art

Hey there, fellow craft enthusiasts! Remember when the pandemic put a pause on all the fun in-person events? Like many of you, I, Robert Kline, turned to the digital world to keep my creative spirit alive. I was thrilled to partner with Daylight Company for their virtual Quilt-N-Sew Fest 2020 – a fantastic event that brought the joy of crafting right to our screens.

One of my favorite parts? Creating a special behind-the-scenes experience paired with a free downloadable floral embroidery sampler! You heard that right – a sampler featuring eight different stitches, all ready to bring your embroidery dreams to life.

Relive the Virtual Embroidery Magic

If you missed the live event, don’t worry! You can still catch all the action, including a closer look at the embroidery sampler and a peek at my go-to tool for detailed work – the Daylight Company Magnificent Floor & Table LED lamp. Trust me, this lamp is a game-changer, especially when you’re dealing with tiny beads and intricate stitches.

Speaking of Daylight Company, their products have become my trusted companions over the years. From the Slimline Floor Lamp to the Smart Clip-on-Lamp and the Wafer 2 Lightbox – each one has made my artistic journey brighter and more enjoyable.

But let’s get back to the main attraction – the Floral Embroidery Sampler!

This free downloadable pattern is designed to fit perfectly within a 7-inch embroidery hoop. Here’s what you’ll need to gather:

  • Light Source: A lightbox or a bright window to transfer the pattern onto your fabric.
  • Fabric Pen: To trace the design onto your chosen fabric.
  • Embroidery Hoop: A 7-inch hoop is ideal.
  • Background Fabric: I used Jennifer Sampou’s Sky ombre fabric, but feel free to choose any fabric that speaks to you.
  • Threads: Add a touch of elegance with a variety of threads. I used Sue Spargo’s Eleganza Perle Cotton.
  • Needles: Applique or embroidery needles that suit your chosen thread and fabric.
  • Optional Embellishments: Add some sparkle with size 8 seed beads!
