Ringing in the New Year at Disneyland: A Magical Celebration Awaits!

Planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort on December 31st? As someone who cherishes their own New Year’s Eve memories from the park, let me tell you, it’s a fantastic way to welcome the new year! While there isn’t a separate ticketed event, the magic of Disneyland transforms the evening into a celebration you won’t forget.

No Extra Ticket Needed: The Magic is Included

That’s right! Your regular Disneyland park ticket grants you access to all the New Year’s Eve festivities. Just make sure you have your park reservations for December 31st, especially if you’re using a Park Hopper ticket. You’ll want to hop to your preferred park as early as possible to make the most of the day.

Double the Fun: New Year’s Eve Festivities in Two Parks

Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure offer unique experiences to ring in the New Year.

Disneyland Park: Fireworks and Fun Until Midnight

Disneyland Park truly comes alive on New Year’s Eve. Expect:

  • Special Entertainment: Dance parties, lively music, and festive party favors keep the energy high throughout the evening.
  • Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks Spectacular: This show is a must-see! Disneyland pulls out all the stops for a dazzling fireworks display that lights up the night sky.

Pro Tip: For those with little ones (or those who prefer an earlier night), Disneyland often offers an early showing of the “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks. You can enjoy the magic without staying up until midnight.

Disney California Adventure Park: A Festival of Holidays

Experience the joy and wonder of holiday traditions from around the world at Disney California Adventure Park’s “Festival of Holidays”. This celebration typically runs until 1:00 AM on New Year’s Eve, giving you plenty of time to soak in the festive atmosphere.

My Own Magical New Year’s Eve Memory

I remember one New Year’s Eve when my family and I watched the early fireworks at Disneyland Park. We then headed back to our Disneyland Hotel room, which had a view of Downtown Disney. Little did we know, we’d have a front-row seat to the midnight fireworks over Disneyland AND a surprise fireworks show at California Adventure! It was truly magical!

Ready to Ring in the New Year at Disneyland?

Remember:

  • Entertainment offerings can change, so be sure to check the Disneyland website or app for the latest schedules.

  • Don’t forget your camera! You’ll want to capture every magical moment.
