DIY Flavored Salts: A Unique and Thoughtful Wedding Favor Idea

Remember those adorable wildflower seed wedding favors I shared a while back? Well, get ready for round two because today, we’re diving into the delicious world of homemade flavored salts – a unique and thoughtful wedding favor that your guests will absolutely adore!

Beyond the Seeds: Expanding the Wedding Favor Options

As much as I love the rustic charm of wildflower seeds, I wanted to offer my guests a variety of favors to choose from. That’s how the idea of flavored salts, along with mini M&Ms, came about. Finding the perfect mini M&Ms turned out to be a surprisingly fun challenge, but Sam’s Club came to the rescue (who knew?). The real star of the show, though, was the lavender-infused bath salts, lovingly crafted by my amazing mom (recipe coming soon!).

Test Tubes & Wicker Baskets: Presentation is Everything

Once all the test tubes were filled and corked, I realized they needed a more organized and visually appealing display than just a big basket. Michael’s, always a haven for craft supplies, offered the perfect solution – long, thin wicker baskets that were perfect for showcasing the test tubes without them getting lost in a jumble. Plus, the natural wicker texture tied in beautifully with our vintage garden party wedding theme.

A Touch of Elegance: Choosing the Right Liner

Initially, I was set on patterned fabric liners for the baskets, but sometimes, simplicity reigns supreme. My initial vision of vibrant patterns would have overwhelmed the delicate beauty of the seeds, candies, and salts. After much deliberation (and a helpful nudge from my ever-practical husband), I opted for solid-colored cloth napkins from Pier One. The subtle stitch detailing added just the right amount of visual interest without being overpowering.

The Final Touch: A Guiding Sign for Guests

To complete the setup, I repurposed one of my wedding frames (with updated text, of course!) The bright blue hue provided a fun contrast to the pastel colors of the favors. The sign read: “Please take your pick! Grow a plot of wild flowers. Indulge in sweet candy pieces. Relax with lavender bath salts.” A gentle reminder about the delicate nature of the glass test tubes was also included.

A Wedding Favor Success Story

Seeing the favor table come together at the reception venue, nestled on a rustic burlap runner, filled me with such joy. The guests loved them, and it warmed my heart to see them appreciate the time and effort put into creating these personalized gifts.
