Each incense holder is a one-of-a-kind creation.
My process begins with the earth itself, using midfire clay to hand-build each incense holder. There’s a meditative quality to shaping the clay, coaxing it into forms both beautiful and functional. I draw inspiration from the natural world – the gentle curves of a seashell, the delicate lines of a leaf – incorporating these organic elements into my designs.
Once the form is complete, the piece is fired in a local community kiln, a testament to the collaborative spirit of the craft. The final step is adding layers of glaze and underglaze, enhancing the natural textures and adding pops of color.
