Robert Kline was born and raised in the Midwest, matured in New England and subsequently transplanted to Florida: A life cycle that includes 20 years of being taught, 10 years of teaching, 15 years of finance, 5 published novels and numerous pieces of watercolor art featuring mermaids, merman, sea (mermaid) babies, pirates, lighthouses, fairies and dragonflies.

As a self-taught artist, Robert Kline is enjoying, to the consternation of some, a fulfilling life cycle. His artistic influences are an unlikely confluence of a women's body; the lumbering beauty of a C-47 in flight; the sexual grace of the cutter "John Alden" (63 feet of antique perfection) slicing through Atlantic ocean swells; tropical rain on large green leaves; good, loud music and chilled gin in a tall glass.
